Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 260 was one of the most exciting iterations of the series yet, and fans were eagerly awaiting the reappearance of their favorite character, Gojo Satoru. The author put a huge twist at the end of this chapter.
In the last few panels, legendary sorcerer Gojo Satoru makes his return sparking intense debates among fans on whether this figure is the real Gojo or just a ghost.
Previously, Gojo was in a fierce battle with Sukuna in Shinjuku. This fight that had been anticipated since we knew that Gojo is the strongest sorcerer of modern times and Sukuna is the strongest in history finally happened. The hype for this clash was fueled even more during Culling Game Arc when Sukuna possessed Megumi’s body and Gojo got out from Prison Realm. Fans knew there would be an epic showdown between these two characters and it didn’t disappoint.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 260 Spoilers
The fight between them was beyond imagination showing how powerful both sorcerers are. Jujutsu Sorcery laws seemed irrelevant to them which made it very thrilling to watch. After many clashes where dominance changed hands several times, Gojo died by an unexpected method. Mahoraga assisted Sukuna in bypassing through Infinity to kill him using World Splitting Dismantle technique thereby splitting his body into two halves.
However much he seemed gone forever, hope never left fans’ hearts for their beloved sensei’s come back. Despite multiple confirmations about his death given by Gege-sensei herself throughout different chapters including this one too up until now…chapter 260 ends with…“What?!!”
In chapter 260, most parts revolved around ongoing fight between Yuji+Todo duo against Sukuna himself. Todo has improved Boogie Woogie technique so much such that it almost became impossible for Sukuna to fight freely hence proving why despite having lost one limb he still remains among topnotch sorcerers. By using swapping ability, he enabled Yuji to land a black flash attack that dealt severe damage on Sukuna’s body but not enough to finish him off completely though. At this point we learn that cursed energy reserves possessed by Ryomen Sukuna are close enough in capacity with those of Rika Orimoto (Yuta Okkotsu’s girlfriend) and can be replenished through reverse cursed technique.
But as Sukuna was about to unleash his Malevolent Shrine domain expansion…he got distracted. Turning to his left, he saw Gojo standing before him like a ghost…
All we got of Gojo in this chapter was a glimpse. Sukuna noticed an outline through smoke and then the eyes of the strongest sorcerer. Fans have been divided by these words- does it mean “his ghost”, or just that Gojo is there but appearing as something otherworldly? Is there another third party present who has disguised themselves as our favorite sensei? Or could this be an illusion created by someone else entirely?
However, reading between lines gives us some clues about what might really be going on here… The entire scene is shown from third person perspective which implies that Gojo must physically present himself before Sukuna otherwise how would readers get such narration? And if so then being called “ghost” could metaphorically signify coming back alive… We know for sure one thing: If Gege says someone has died then they are dead – unless resurrection happens! But what kind of resurrection is being referred to in case of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 260 ending?.
Jujutsu Kaisen can be read via Viz Media, with the series legally readable for free on Shonen Jump and Manga Plus apps. Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 will come out on May 26th, 2024.
