Hidilyn Francisco Diaz is a Filipino weightlifter and airwoman. She was the first Gold Winner in the history of the Philippines Olympics. After making history as the first Filipino Olympic gold medalist, Diaz is set to receive P33 million worth of incentives from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the country’s tycoons.
According to the PSC’s incentive system (RA 10699), “Olympic gold is worth P10 million and Diaz is the first Filipino athlete to pocket that amount from the country’s government sports agency.”
