Daniel joyner Death

Dear OHS Fam,
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I inform you that our very own Kowboy, Mr. Daniel Joyner, has passed.
Mr. Joyner was an amazing Spanish teacher, soccer coach, and one of our school deans. He was loved by our kids and he loved them just as much. Mr. Joyner knew all of our student’s first and last names, and it was our ongoing joke that all we needed to do was describe the student, and he knew everything about them; he was that invested and dedicated to our kids.
Mr. Joyner’s family is still working through this great loss. They have shared that his viewing is this Wednesday, September 1 and the service is on Thursday, September 2 at 11 am in Watkinsville, GA at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day-Saints.
This is a very difficult loss for all of us and we have a crisis team set up for our students in the media center as early as August 30 at 7:00 am.
This is a very sad time for all of us. We will get through this together as a Kowboy family.
Through this Facebook post, they clearly announced that a legendary Spanish teacher named Daniel Joyner died.
Daniel was a kind heart personality and all kids and teachers of his school love him too much. His sudden death makes everyone upset and saddened.

We became very close, talking about our students and their future. We had jokes and funny videos we shared and when he moved to Florida, we kept in touch. One thing I know for sure is that he loved his son, Kelly. Kelly was the light of his life. Godspeed Daniel. I will miss you and your big heart. “

I had the privilege to hire Joyner at Poinciana High School as a World Language teacher and head soccer coach. Daniel would always tell it straight – never afraid to ask a question or tell me how it was going on campus.
I was happy to hear when he moved into the leadership pipeline as a Dean at OHS.
This Pandemic has cost us too much. I’m so tired of the bullshit.
I am sorry that Daniel won’t get to continue on that journey. I am sorry for his little boy. I am sorry for his family.
Rest In Peace.

I’m shocked and heartbroken to learn of dear friend’s passing today from COVID. 36 years old y’all. It’s not fair. I am so tired of this damn virus and what it has taken from people. Daniel was such a bright light to everyone who knew him. So many wonderful memories with you in it, sweet Daniel. I will always cherish our time and friendship through Show Choir in high school. If you knew Daniel Joyner you were a better person for it. Rest easy sweet friend. Til we meet again on the other side. Please pray for his son and his sweet family. I can’t imagine what they are going through and feeling.

This message is replaying again and again in my head all day today. 💔 The last words he said to me.
Daniel Joyner – a beautiful person and dear friend – will always be in our hearts. Daniel, I’m still struggling to process that I won’t be able to talk to you, in Spanish or in English, again in this life. We will have to get that drink when we meet again. 🍻😢
Kelly and Sarah Ruth – I love you and am here for you. Always always. 💕
Another beautiful post by one of his close friend in which he wrote:
I have just learned of the death of a really good friend: Daniel Joyner of Kissimmee, Florida. Daniel worked with me at Madison County High School and was probably one of the most loved teachers that I have known. Daniel impacted lives and made people feel valued. If you were his student you already know this. Rest in peace Daniel. I’m so glad I got to introduce you to my wife and daughter when we were in Orlando. You’re missed brother.

We pray that God gives strength to Daniel Joyner’s family to face this difficult time. We also pray his soul may rest in peace.
