Metro Police say Shirley was “targeted and ambushed.” Police Chief Erika Shields says they have a couple of potential suspects in the shooting. Brandon Shirley, 26, was a two-year veteran of the sheriff’s department who worked in the court security division. He recently was awarded a medal of valor for his actions in helping a shooting victim during last year’s protests in Louisville.”
